The New Wave of Indian Enterprise - Seminar with Mr Alan Rosling

Startups are the organizations that will shape the future of Indian economy. A lot of students aspire to become entrepreneurs and the Corporate Interface Club acts as a bridge between the industry and the students. The Corporate Interface Cell in association with Asia Society hosted Mr. Alan Rosling, former director of Tata Group and strategic advisor for over 35 years. Mr. Alan Rosling discussed his new book "Boom country?” that puts forth the question "Can the current upsurge in entrepreneurial activity-imperfect and early as it may be - really reshape India’s economy and propel it towards becoming a true boom country for new enterprise? He provided an analysis of the opportunities and challenges, both traditional and contemporary of doing business in India. His interactive and engaging session encouraged many students to put forth questions, mostly about the differences between the Indian and western start-up culture. He was also delighted to find that NMIMS is very supportive of its student’s start-ups as it provides an incubator for the same within the campus.



Marketing and Advertising Session with Ms. Shampa Maitra

The Corporate Interface Cell hosted a session with Advertising Leader, Ms Shampa Maitra, who have worked with leading advertising agencies such Leo Burnett, Ogilvy & Mather, McCann Erickson, Rediffusion Y&R, Clarion (Bates), Percept/H & Percept One. She interacted with the students about developing effective business modules, planning, birthing and building brands and creating experiences across physical, digital, organizational and cultural contexts. She was extremely impressed with the student's participation and praised the school for imparting high quality education. The students at SOC, valued this discussion and enjoyed it thoroughly.



The Ultimate Marketeer – A Marketing and Branding Simulation Event

At CIC, we believe in imparting knowledge in an experiential manner, and the best way is through business simulations. The event, conducted by the Corporate Interface Cell, saw a successful turnout of 21 teams from BBA & B.Com (Hons.). In the first round, teams had to devise a marketing strategy for selected product. This included devising a specialty about the product, innovative ways to market it and also formulating a #hashtag campaign. In the second round, the six qualified teams had got a product each and were instructed to create and explain their marketing strategy to the audience keeping in mind the budget constraints and other costs market their product to judges by presenting an elevator pitch. The intense competition forced the participants to think out of the box and marked them for quick thinking and high intellect that is much needed in today's fast paced world. The winners of the event were Aishwarya Nayak and Hiteshi Gupta and the runner-ups of the event were Smit Shah and Parikshit Garg.
