Visit to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Monday 22nd September 2014.
(Organized by the Corporate Interface Cell of ASMSOC)

Faculty accompanying the students were Dr. Sandeep Hegde, Prof. Akshay Damani and Prof. Kushagra Goel.

Total number of students were 40 (from TYBBA Class)

The current upturn in the economy, the healthy state of the market and SENSEX touching its all time high had every citizen of the country developing a newly found love towards investing in the financial markets.

With this thought in mind, the Corporate Interface Cell of ASMSOC in its endeavour to bridge the gap between the corporate world and students organised an industrial visit to BSE, Asia’s first stock exchange. A group of 40 students toured the iconic building on Dalal Street.

The students got a close opportunity to interact with brokers and sub-brokers operating out of the BSE. They also got to understand the trading process in detail and witnessed live trading through a terminal. The visiting students were briefed on the history of stock market trading in India with instances from some of the biggest scams in the history of the business. They were explained the mathematics behind the execution of these scams

Finally the entire group got a chance to visit Convention Hall towards the end of the tour which is a landmark in the building. The Hall was the original space used to trade in times of the open-outcry method thus making it significant to the history of the institution.

This enterprising day came to an end with the students having experienced live stock market trading at BSE; it was both enriching and informative.
