Student: Student Initiatives

Tanmay Arora is a founder member of MAD (Make A Difference) Foundation–a not-for-profit organisation working with underprivileged children, which was selected by the First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, to showcase her support for youth involvement and leadership in public policy and socially relevant activity. She expressed her appreciation for the work being done by Tanmay and his fellow volunteers and mentioned this in her St. Xaviers college speech to 300 of the city’s best college students.

Also, the wife of the American Ambassador to India who was present has expressed interest in associating herself with the NGO. MAD was selected as a shining example of youth leadership and a manifestation of her firm belief that youth can and does make a difference to a nation’s destiny by the First Lady on her visit to India, who selected it from among a list of some of the largest NGOs in the country.
